-The NDC held its second Unity Walk aimed at fostering unity in the party
-Today being the birthday of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the walk was also used to honour him
There was a massive turnout for the much anticipated second 'Unity Walk' of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Accra on Thursday.
As early as 6:00 AM, YEN.com.gh found hundreds of supporters in party paraphernalia had already trooped to the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, where the walk was scheduled to start.
The group, amidst drumming and dancing, marched through the principal streets of Accra for about four hours before converging at the Arts Centre near the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to be addressed by party leaders.
Themed “Mobilization of the grassroots; a shared responsibility’’, the walk was originally aimed at fostering unity in the party and also to celebrate Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president whose birthday falls today.
