- Grieving husband slept by his wife’s lifeless body for 6 days
- The love of his life died after 10-year battle with cancer
- Keeping her in the house was his way of saying goodbye. But that is not all
A grief-stricken husband and father-of-four from Derby surprised many when he refused to take body of her dead wife to morgue or funeral home as expected.
Russell Davison, 50, kept and slept by the body of his diseased wife, Wendy, in the house for six whole days after she lost a 10-year-battle with cancer.
“There was nothing wrong with being in the room with her lifeless body. She looked beautiful as always. Radiant,” says Davison, adding that it gave him time to come to terms with her death.
Accompanying him were their four sons, who also wanted to spend time with their mum during her very last days on earth.
Wendy was reportedly diagnosed with cancer way back in 2006. Her doctors were a bit surprised that she lived with the disease for 10 years.
According to her husband, she went through hysterectomy, but avoided chemotherapy and radiotherapy, choosing natural remedies instead.
“We lived like monks, cutting out sugar and alcohol and eating only organic foods,” says Davidson, who is a landlord.
