-NDC supporters held a demonstration against Presidnet Akufo-Addo in New York
-They heckled Gabby and Sammens after bumping into them on the streets
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) demonstration against President Nana Akufo-Addo in New York on Thursday got a little messy as participants went off script.
In an unexpected twist, some of the demonstrators heckled Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and member of President Akufo-Addo's inner caucus and Samuel Atta-Mensah (Sammens), CEO of Accra-based Citi FM.
The demonstration themed "Ghana is not safe under Nana Addo's government" was originally intended to focus on President Akufo-Addo who was scheduled to address the UN General Assembly.
But in a video making rounds on social media, the demonstrators were seen following the two who were in the company of others on the streets of New York.
Some of them verbally assaulted Mr Otchere-Darko who walked on briskly without responding.
One loud voice is heard accusing him of taking $20,000 before allowing prospective visitors to the president.
It is not yet known whether the two were part of President Akufo-Addo's entourage to the UN.
