Media personality, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) has descended on the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) over an amount of GHc2 million given to the Union by the government.
According to KOD, it makes no sense for the Union to say that the money was used for research purposes.
In its 2012 budget report, read in November 2011, the government allotted GHc2 million to MUSIGA.
MUSIGA’s president, Bice Osei Kuffuor, popularly called ‘Obuor’ has suffered intense criticism over the use of the money provided by the government.
KOD raised questions with regard to the use of the funds; he wondered if the money has really been directed at the benefit of musicians in the country.
