-Former President Mahama's footballer son celebrated his birthday yesterday
-He was rumoured to have been given a Mercedes Benz Whip as a birthday gift but it turns out not to be true
What is the ultimate gift you would want for your birthday? It would not be surprising if you opted for a very nice car.
Well, that was what Sharaf, son of former President John Mahama got when he celebrated his birthday yesterday, September 21 or that is what was widely reported in the Ghanaian media.
But according to checks made by YEN.com.gh, though the car , a black Mercedes Benz Whip, belonged to Sharaf as reported, it was not a birthday gift but a car he got for himself through his earnings as a professional footballer long before his recent birthday.
Last year, reports emerged of him signing for Belgian Pro League side, KV Mechelen but YEN.com.gh understands that he is currently playing in the Belgian First Division.
"Sharaf Mahama is the son of HE John Dramani Mahama and turned 20 years on September 21, 2017. He has been playing soccer in Belgium since he was 17 years and is currently signed by a 1st Division Club. He purchased his car, long before his 20th birthday, from his own earnings as a footballer", a close source told YEN.com.gh.
