Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, the Member of Parliament for Nadowli West and former Minister for Health under the John Mahama-led government has revealed that he is equally qualified to lead Ghana as president.
According to the legislator, he mentored both Ghana's current president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former president John Dramani Mahama in parliament.
Alban Bagbin, aged 60, has been identified as one of longest service MP in Ghana, having been a member of the legislative body since 1993.
Speaking at his 60th birthday and commemoration of his 25 years as a lawmaker, he noted that if Nana Addo and John Mahama have been given the nod to lead Ghana, he would also suffice for the position.
Alban revealed that he would be open to leading the NDC as the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress political party.
Explaining why he is best placed to lead the NDC, he said when the current president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Ado was in parliament he was his chairman of the parliamentary select committee on constitutional and legal matters and the current president was his ranking member and therefore if he’s now the President of Ghana why not him .
He noted that both Nana Addo and Mahama had passed under his hands for tutelage and were living testimonies of his good works.
