-Klo-Agogo SHS facing infrastructural challenges following the posting of 660 Free SHS students
-Students force to sleep in turns and on verandas as well as share desks in class
Students posted to the Klo-Agogo Senior High School in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region under the Free SHS programme have been left frustrated as the school's authorities try to provide dormitories and classrooms for them.
According to some of the students, overcrowding in the dormitories has forced them to be sleeping in turns and on verandas risking bad weather and mosquito bites while they also have to share desks when they go for classes.
The situation, YEN.com.gh understands, is so dire that authorities have converted the limited classrooms into dormitories while uncompleted buildings including a small assembly hall have been turned into classrooms.
All of those interventions, however, have proven not sufficient.
As it stands now, many of of the students are demoralized and distracted from learning.
They are therefore appealing for immediate help as more of the 660 students posted under the programme report to the school.
"I am from Accra and posted here but the situation here is bad not even desk to sit on, classrooms and dormitories overcrowded, we thank the government for the Free SHS though but he must do something about our challenges “, one student pleaded in an interview on Starr FM.
