Berekum Chelsea in-form striker, Stephen Sarfo who has become a subject for ridicule on various social media platforms has fired back at his detractors.
The player who powered the Local Black Stars into victory over the weekend at the Cape Coast stadium was mocked by critics for expressing himself poorly in the Queen’s language.
But speaking on Adom FM in Accra, the 23-year-old player brushed aside his critics trolling him on social media, insisting that no degree holder holds a Goal King in Ghana’s football history.
The Local Black Stars player added that though he was not academically active while in basic school, he has made good use of his football talent and will not be discouraged by mere social media criticisms.
“I’m hoping to be called to the Black Stars that is my ultimate dream so people can mock for my English but I don’t care” , he said.
Stephen Sarfo said annexing to the top scorer award in the tournament is not his ultimate aim but will push harder.
The talented forwarder scored two goals in the finals of the tournament against bitterest rivals Nigeria at the Cape Coast stadium to retain the WAFU Cup
The player was also adjudged Man of the match and also won the Golden Boot award in the WAFU Cup of Nations.
But social media trolls over his English language with the media appears to be taking the shine away from his exploits after securing victory for Ghana.
