Ghanaian comedian and artiste Kwame A Plus has revealed that he has more friends in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), than in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) despite the fact that he belongs to the latter party.
The hiplife musician is known to be a strong member of the NPP and campaigned extensively for the party during the 2016 election period.
However, he disclosed that despite his affiliation to the ruling party, members of the opposition NDC constitute 90% of his friends.
Speaking on 'The Zone' show with KOD, A Plus said: “I’m a member of the NPP and I became a member because of the love for President Akufo-Addo.
"I’m a strong NPP member. I believe the NPP way of governance but 90 percent of my friends are NDC, most of the people I call to go and sit down and eat ‘omo Tuo’ are NDC people. The fact that I belong to NPP doesn’t mean we are enemies, we talk, eat, chat and do a lot together”.
He further noted that there are many people in the NDC that he likes, but was quick to add that he doesn't like the party's way of governance.
According to him, "we have to be able to separate politics and relationship with people", insisting one does not need to like a particular party before making friends with its members.
