- Three sisters have won Homecoming Queen at the same high school
- Homecoming Queen is a contest of excellence and popularity
- They have been hailed as an example of black excellence
Three sisters in the US have been hailed as examples of black excellence after they all won Homecoming Queen at the same high school.
Homecoming Queen is a contest held in US high schools that considers such factors as school performance, attendance, involvement and popularity. Its winners are usually the brightest.
Faith Lewis is the latest of the three sisters to win it at the Lawrence County High School in Kentucky for the year 2017-2018.
Her elder sisters Brittany Lewis (2008-2009) and Jasmine Lewis (2009-2010) have won it too.
Brittany shared the achievement on Facebook. She wrote: "What's better than 1 crown 2? No, 3 especially when they're from the same last name as you. 'Legacy, Legacy, Black excellence we gone let them see.' #becauseofthemwecan."
Brittany later added: "We're the first set of sisters to all have won Homecoming Queen at our high school."
Congratulations to them! It's indeed inspiring that excellence runs in their family.
