General secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has made a shocking allegation against president of the republic, Nana Akufo-Addo stating that the president is a drug addict.

According to the general secretary, he has the strong conviction that the president smokes weed to get him active in his duties as head of state.

Speaking on what may have premised his argument, Asiedu Nketiah argued that the failure of the president to redeem him image since the wikileaks report which claimed he, Nana Addo “woke up in a cloud of smoke each morning” is clear indication that he is an avid drug user.

According to this Wikileaks report by the former United States Ambassador to Ghana, Pamela Bridgewater, Nana Addo is an avid drug user.

“The NPP repealed the Criminal Libel Law so everyone is at liberty to speak his mind and make any allegation against anyone so Appiah Stadium has not done anything wrong to warrant an invitation from the National Security” he added.

Allegations over drug use against the president remains one of the most troubling issues the president has had to come to terms with as political critics often wonder how the president is able to pull of the political pressures in such an old age.
