The interdicted Principal of the Tepa Midwifery College, Madam Victoria Amoah has gone ‘missing’ after several attempts by the Health Ministry to locate her.
According to officials of the Ministry of Health, the embattled Principal has vacated her official residence and she is currently cannot be traced to get her handover her post.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Robert Cudjoe speaking to Starr FM in Accra disclosed that the Ministry suspects Madam Amoah is on a hideout somewhere in Accra.
Robert Cudjoe says authorities at the Ministry are currently doing its best to get in touch with her relatives to assist fish out the Principal.
Ms Amoah was interdicted months after an investigation report by Ultimate FM in Kumasi blew her cover in a massive corrupt scandal involving her and one accountant of the school.
The Health Ministry which followed up another investigations into the matter found the Principal guilty of violating some major guidelines of the Health Ministry to milk the school’s funds running into millions of cedis.
Reports suggest that Madam Victoria Amoah with the help of Richard Asamoah, an accountant of the College faked invoices and receipts to steal funds during every admission in excess of GH¢9million.
Investigations also revealed that the massive corruption deal started as far back as 2011, just two years after the College was established in the region.
Also, a further probe by a seven-member delegation set aside by the Ministry of Health uncovered another GH¢7million fraudulent deal involving the Principal.
Further checks by investigators also exposed that, about 50 percent of past and current students of the College did not pass through any interview panel, as admission into the College was purely sold at a whopping GH¢3000.
Meanwhile, Ultimate FM’s journalist who has been following up on the issue reports that Mrs. Amoah is still in control of admissions forms for the school and she is allegedly selling them out to prospective students through an agent at a fee of GHC3000.
