According to reports by Nhyira FM, coach Kwesi Appiah has taken decided to remove Ghana's most successful football family from his squad for the next World Cup qualifier.

Coach Kwesi Appiah's decision to remove both Ayew boys may have been inspired by their decision to drop out of Ghana's most recent 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Congo, a game the Black Stars ended up winning 5-1.
