It is understood that, a team of high profile NDC members led by former Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia, Baba Jamal, who is a lawyer, secured his release.
Appiah Stadium, a very vocal NDC serial caller in the New Patriotic party (NPP) stronghold of Ashanti, was arrested Tuesday morning by the police in Kumasi for allegedly describing President Akufo-Addo as a drug addict.
His arrest became a subject for intense debate with many condemning it as breach of his right to Free Speech.
General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, in a radio interview, likened the arrest to the days of Criminal Libel where people could be arrested and prosecuted for expressing their views.
