After making allegations that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is a consumer of Marijuana, commonly known weed, Ghanaians were hit by reports that police in the Ashanti Region had arrested Appiah Stadium, born Frank Kwaku Appiah.

Though the pro NDC serial caller has subsequently been released on bail, many have come out to criticize the Ghana Police Services' hastily taken decision to make an arrest without receiving a complaint from the President... including the president.

According to Hon. Afenyo-Markin, the Ghana Police Service can only move to detain someone for this form of infraction only after having received a complaint from one who's been defamed (or libeled).

While the Effutu lawmaker criticized Appiah Stadium's unfounded allegations, he categorically stated that he does not agree with the police's decision to arrest the NDC serial caller and put him in handcuffs was the right course of action.

He expressed that since the Appiah Stadium rendered an unqualified apology, there was no longer a need for his apprehension.

“Sometimes we politicians we are funny. …if it is not about us we behave as if it is normal then we begin to talk about our reputation”, he remarked ironically.
