Veteran Kumawood actor, Agya Koo has opined that Ghana’s movie industry isn’t dead, but simply needs urgent reforms.

He further argued that its present challenges could be surmounted if the appropriate measures are put in place.
To him, telenovelas are not to blame for the current state of the industry, because they have always been around, but could hitherto not match the then quality of movies produced.
He stated that programmes such as ‘Rosalinda’ and series such as ‘Journey to the West’ existed during his prime days, but the Ghanaian movie industry stayed strong.
In providing a solution, he advised movie producers to revert to the old concepts used in movies, in order to revive the interest of Ghanaians in the industry.
