Former minister Richard Anane says helping the Akufo-Addo’s government is not always about positions

- Dr. Richard Anane argued that one doesn't need positions to play a role in helping the government succeed

- He served as both minister of Health and Roads & Highways during former president Kufuor's tenure

A former minister in then president Kufuor’s government, Dr. Richard Anane has stated that he doesn’t need a position from president Akufo-Addo.

He asserted that with or without a portfolio, there are other functions he could perform to help the government succeed.

He however indicated that he in the position to play a prominent role in the government.

Dr. Anane, who served as head of both Health and Roads & Highways ministries in former president Kufuor’s government, added that he was one of the youngest people to play a role in the formative years of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He further stated that there are so many ways of getting things done, and that one need not hold a position.

He then promised to do all he can to ensure that the government performs well during its term of office.
