- The attorney general is expected to answer questions related to the judgement debt
- The cross examination will determine the fate of the embattled business man regarding the debt
Embattled business man, Alfred Woyome, is expected to face the Supreme Court today for oral examination by the attorney general, Gloria Akufo as he answers tough questions over his GHc 51 million judgement debt.
So far, Woyome had begged the Supreme Court to stay proceedings on the oral examination since he had filed for a review of the case even though it got rejected by the Supreme Court as Justice Alfred Benin, the application had no basis.
But in-between the span of Woyome’s cross examination, the businessman has had his residence besieged by security officials as government plans to consider auctioning his properties to defray his debt.
Attorney General, Gloria Akufo has revealed government’s plan to fully retrieve all funds from the embattled businessman.
There had been previous attempts to orally examine Mr. Woyome with Mr. Amidu himself, in 2016, filed an application at the Supreme Court seeking to examine Alfred Woyome, on how he was going to pay back the money, after the Attorney General’s office under the Mahama regime, led by the former minister for justice, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, discontinued a similar application.
