-Parliament is set to resume for 3rd meeting of the 1st session of the 7th parliament
-MP is displeased with the processes leading to that and has criticised the Majority leader for it
Deputy Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, Ahmed Ibrahim is displeased with Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and has chided him over his leadership style.
The displeasure of Mr Ibrahim, who is the MP for Banda in Brong Ahafo, stems from the fact that although the house is said to be coming back from recess on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, no official communication had reached members yet.
Parliament is set to resume for its third sitting of the first of the seventh parliament but according to the Banda MP he only saw a notice of the resumption on social media.
For this, he described the Majority Leader who doubles as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs as running parliament like a 'blue kiosk', a term which refers to any shop where the locally brewed gin, 'akpeteshie' is sold.
Buttressing his point in an interview on Peace FM, he argued that aid even when parliamentarians are to be called for emergency sittings, they are to be informed appropriately hence it was wrong for the Majority Leader not to inform MPs about the return from recession.
"You cannot just get up one day and call all MPs on social media to resume from their recession without a formal notice. You have to use the right channels in communicating to MPs on issues relating to their work", he said.
