- Carlo Ancelotti was sacked following Bayern Munich's 3-0 defeat to PSG
Bayern Munich star winger Arjen Robben has slammed the training methods of Carlo Ancelotti following the manager’s sacking last week.
The 58-year-old who took over the reigns at the Allianz Arena in July 2016, had his contract terminated after the side’s 3-0 thrashing at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Robben refused to back Ancelotti after the defeat and the forward has once again thrown shade at the Italian as Bayern search for his successor.
In an interview with German media, the Dutch attackers said: “There’s better training at my son’s youth team [than under Ancelotti].’"
It is claimed both Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso complained to Bayern officials regarding Ancelotti’s training methods last term.
However, the former AC Milan and Italy midfielder kept his job after steering the Bundesliga giants to the title.
Assistant manager Willy Sagnol has taken over as interim coach, with ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel favourite to come in as Ancelotti’s long-term replacement.
