- Cesc Fabregas has explained the vital reason Chelsea lost to Manchester City at home
- The Blues were beaten by current Premier League leaders in a tough battle at Stamford Bridge
- Fabregas said their midweek trip to Spain where they faced Atletico was not of help to them
Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has explained the vital reason that masterminded their home defeat against Manchester City in a tough Premier League game.
The Blues' fans are still battling to come to terms the defeat Antonio Conte's men suffered against current Premier League leaders Manchester City.
And former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas reckons Chelsea lost to Manchester City because they were knackered from clocking up the miles.
“We knew it would be a difficult week starting with the trip to Stoke last Saturday and then Madrid.
“We practically had only one day to prepare for the City match while we faced a team who were well prepared.
“They had played two home games and had an extra day rest. We are making no excuses. We gave it everything but they are a great team and congratulations to them,'' Fabregas explained.
