Ghanaians who were present during the Las Vegas Shooting recount their ordeal

-Renowned Ghanaian fashion designer recounts the shooting incident in Las Vegas

-The Ghanaian indicated that the Ghanaians living in Las Vegas did not feel safe anymore

-The shooting which occurred Monday claimed over 50 lives and left hundreds injured

Tetteh Plahar who served as the fashion designer for former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has recounted the situation he, together with some Ghanaian party-goers had to experience as a result of the shooting in Las Vegas.

Recounting the incident to Daily Heritage, the fashion designer indicated that a group of Ghanaians were attending a party in the Mandalay Bay Hotel; the same building that housed the gunman. He revealed that the music concert was being held right opposite the hotel.

He indicated that when they heard the first sounds, they thought it was the sound of fire crackers until they saw many people fleeing the scene and droves of police cars flooding the venue of the concert. He added that they were instantly thrown into a state of fear since they did not know where the shots were coming from neither did they know what was going to happen next.

The fashion designer indicated that security at the Hotel was not tight prior to the shooting and also revealed that the staff of the Hotel warned them against leaving their rooms during the shooting.

He said at a point, news was going round that there was a bomb scare; heightening tension and fear the more. He revealed that they were going to check out of the hotel shortly because they did not feel safe.

He went on to say that, one had to be extra-careful going forward. He added that he had to look back several times to see who was behind him whenever he had to go somewhere. He added that they were so terrified that they did not sleep the whole night.
