Respected Ghanaians behind supply of arms for armed robbery - Ex-armed robber

- Former armed robber alleges top politicians and influential Ghanaians behind supply of arms to robbers

- Agya Yaw Yeboah also alleges that benefit from proceeds of a successful attack

An ex-armed robber, Agya Yaw Yeboah, has cast a slur on some high ranking members of the state, after claiming that majority of the robbery attacks carried out in the country are backed by politicians.

According to him, the ammunitions used by these armed robbers in their operations are mostly supplied to them by top officials of the state.

The now-changed man made these revelations whiles engaging in an interview session with Kofi TV, screened live on Facebook.

Mr Yeboah also claimed that even some lawyers are involved in this scandalous act, saying they [lawyers] later go for their share from the armed robbers, after helping them escape the law.

He shockingly disclosed that these top officials are the main brains behind most of the robbery attacks in the country, adding that their operations are sponsored.

Asked if he will be able to substantiate his claims if invited by the police, the robber-turned-pastor disclosed that he had lost touch with many of his fellow robbers due to his long stay outside the country.

His utterances, though, have led to the Police opening up an investigations into the matter.

According to the Director of Police Public Affairs, DSP Sheila Kesse Abayie Buckman, they will invite Yaw Yeboah very soon to interrogate him, in order to get to the bottom of the matter.

She added that the police has already “commenced investigations into the allegations and are in the process of inviting Agya Yaw Yeboah to assist in investigations.”
