The political battle between President Nana Akufo-Addo and Former President John Mahama, seems to have existed well before the final showdown in 2016.
Back when Former Presidents John Atta Mills and John Kufuor were getting ready to go head -to-head in the 2000 elections, Nana Addo and Mahama engaged in their own battle of political wits.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the two political figures, in an episode of TV3’s political affairs program Hot Issues, showed the very young Akufo-Addo and Mahama engaged in a conversation about political policies and promises as the next election period drew nearer.
The video, which is a throwback from TV3’s archives as part of the TV station's 20th anniversary celebration saw both political leaders debate impressively, as each sought to debunk the other's arguments.
At the time, Mahama was the Minister of Communications under the Rawlings era, and Nana Addo was a leading member of the New Patriotic Party, and political activist.
