- Woman’s paycheck was delayed for nine days because bank did not trust her
- The black lady is an architect, a fact that KeyBrank employee couldn't believe
- Pissed off by the cruel treatment, the lady took to social media to share her frustration. Reaction was fast and fiery
Social media users have launched scathing attack on KeyBrank branch in Seattle after it emerged that the bank’s employee delayed black woman’s paycheck because he couldn’t believe she is an architect.
The lady, identified as Trish Doolin from Kirkland, Washington, allegedly waited for nine whole days to receive her pay after the bank’s employee refused to process it because he couldn't trust that she was an architect.
“I live in a world where, no matter what’s in my brain or purse, no matter how I wear my hair, I’m still black. People still clutch their purses when I walk past,” frustrated Doolin shared with Buzzfeed News following the unfortunate incident.
She also shared her ordeal on social media, sparking immediate reaction with many people accusing KeyBrank for blatant racial discrimination.
“What happened to this lady is ridiculous and totally unacceptable,” fired one Ben Nalul. “Don’t give them any more business,” commented another.
The rage continued, grabbing the attention of the bank itself and some other bank employees who also condemned the act.
In response to the fiasco, the bank said it doesn't tolerate discrimination of any form. But this did not quite convince Doolin, who is now threatening to leave for another bank.
