I am seeking a court injunction on "One Corner" to save lives- Top Pastor

Founder and Leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, Nicholas Osei popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha has indicated that he is going to court to seek an injunction against the playing of the popular “One Corner” song.

Speaking in an interview on Kofi TV, the outspoken Man of God explained that the song was ‘meaningless’ and was promoting promiscuity in the society. The pastor indicated that the lyrics of the song did not teach any moral lesson and he was making moves to stop the song from being played.

He went on to say that songs sung by ace musicians like Amakye Dede and Akwasi Ampofo Adjei were full of moral lessons and promoted the culture of Ghanaians. He however bemoaned the changing trends in music by contemporary acts for promoting negativity.

The Man of God indicated that he had no problem with Patapaa the song’s composer but he had a problem with the alarming rate at which the song was destroying lives in the country and wanted to put a stop to it.

According to the Man of God, 3 people had lost their lives due to the song. He cited an incixdent in Dansoman where a young man is believed to have climbed an electric pole and fell to his death. He also added the incident of the death of two people in Kumasi due to dancing to the “One Corner” song.

Prophet Kumchacha who struggled with the lyrics of the song told the Kofi TV host that the song was even affecting religions explaining that some Christians are dancing to the song and some girls in an Islamic school have landed into trouble for dancing to the song in class.

He added that the injunction was going to prevent the song from being played on radio and at public gatherings which would in turn minimize the damage being caused to society because of the song.
