- The two-headed buffalo was born in Pakistan
- The miracle calf has one body and two complete heads
- Nobody expected the bizarre calf could survive longer than a day. But it is now one week since it was born
Confusion as a miraculous two-headed buffalo calf is born in Lucky Foods Daily Farm in Karachi, Pakistan.
The calf has two heads, complete with two mouths, four ears, and two noses. Even the farm’s boss, Salman Hussain, was shocked when the bizarre creature arrived on 27th September 2017.
“It is a miracle. I didn't believe it when the farm manager broke the news. I dashed to the farm to see for myself the two-headed calf,” says the CEO of Lucky Foods Daily Farm.
There is, however, a scientific and logical explanation as to why the buffalo calf was born with two heads, unlike others.
“This condition is called polycephaly, meaning an animal born with more than one head. It happens when an embryo begins to split into twins then stops and the twins remain attached,” Hussain explains.
The two-headed buffalo, which has not been given a name yet, was reportedly not expected to survive longer than a day. But it has stayed alive for a whole week now.
Though the farm’s chief says the calf is too week to stand up on two feet because of the heavy weight of his two heads, it seems determined to live on.
“I would really love to see it stand and walk,” says Hussain, jokingly.
It would be a miracle of biblical proportions to actually see a healthy and fully grown two-headed buffalo running around.
