Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes he is a better manager now at Manchester United than he ever was at Chelsea.
The Red Devils are in blazing hot form, and are joint-top of the Premier League with an unbeaten record ahead of a mouthwatering clash after the international break.
Mourinho, who has also managed Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan across an esteemed career, is confident he is at the peak of his powers and has ‘matured’ since his earlier days in management.
He told Portuguese outlet Record: “I am a much better coach today, precisely because of the different control of my emotions.
“The way I deal with difficulties. I feel more mature.”
The Red devils boss has heaped praise on top goalscorer, Romelu Lukaku, who he also worked with during his time at Stamford Bridge. “I don’t want to speak about this progress because if I do that it looks like we have done something extraordinary in three months, something he hasn’t done in the other years of his career,” he said at the end of last month.
“It’s not fair. It’s been about evolution. I think every step in his career he has got it, he has grabbed it with both hands since his first loan to West Brom. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands, fighting for his evolution.
“He has been very strong in his desire to be playing in a team with other objectives now.
“Champions League football was always his dream – to come to this level. ‘Since he has arrived here I don’t think he has thought anything other than to be a success.
Jose Mourinho’s big test this season will be on Saturday, September 14, 2017 when they visit Anfield for an away tie with Liverpool.
