Today marks the 54th birthday of the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and there has been a huge outpour of birthday wishes and love for him.

When the clock struck midnight, the Second Lady Samira Bawumia, posted a loving, heartfelt message to her husband, expressing how she and their children love him.

As his special day keeps getting filled lots of happy wishes, YEN.com.gh wants to bring a little throwback from the younger days of Dr. Bawumia.

Dr. Bawumia was born in Tamale, the twelfth child of his father’s eighteen children, and the second of his mother’s five children.

He has an impressive array of educational qualifications including a First Class Honors Degree in Economics from the University of Buckingham in England, and a Master’s degree in Economics from Lincoln College in Oxford.

Dr. Bawumia obtained his Ph.D. from the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada in 1995, and has since worked in various top positions in Finance in Ghana.

He was the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana before he was selected as the running mate for the New Patriotic Party’s Nana Akufo-Addo in 2008.

Dr. Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia have four adorable children.
