Less than 24 hours after a ghastly gas explosion at Atomic Junction, a suburb of Accra, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has paid a visit to some of the victims on admission at various hospitals in the capital.

The explosion which occurred yesterday, October 7 at around 7:30 PM sent shockwaves to Madina and its environs causing some burns to passersby and some food vendors in the area.

The vice president was preceded by an advanced team who went on ahead to assess the situation at the hospital.

The Vice President followed shortly and sent the compliments and solidarity message of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the burn victims.

Efforts are still underway to attend to some of the victims of the explosion. It is purported that the 37 Military Hospital will treat the victims of the explosion for free.

Pharmaceutical giant, Ernest Chemist has also indicated that they are going to give medical supplies to the 37 Military Hospital, Legon Hospital and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Many statesmen and celebrities including past president John Mahama, Captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan and Rapper M.anifest have all expressed their condolence to the bereaved families and sent their warm wishes to the burn victims.
