A female worker in Bangladesh has become a heroine after inspiring her female colleagues to agitate for equal pay as their male counterparts.
Taslima shared her story with photojournalist GMB Akash, who then published it on his Facebook page.
She said: "We do everything a man does, our working hours are same. But when I went to take my wage the manager gave me 50 taka (Ghc 2,63) less than my male coworker."
Her manager told her it's because she does not wear a shirt like men. Taslima therefore wore a shirt to work the next day.
However, her manager told her he could only increase her wages if all female workers at her place of work wore shirts like men.
Following her example, her female colleagues wore shirts the following day. This time, the manager had no excuse not to give them equal pay.
