Equal rights! See how woman inspired her female co-workers to fight for equal pay as men

- Taslima got paid less for doing the same work her male counterparts did

- She agitated for equal power and inspired her female colleagues

- They are finally getting equal pay

A female worker in Bangladesh has become a heroine after inspiring her female colleagues to agitate for equal pay as their male counterparts.

Taslima shared her story with photojournalist GMB Akash, who then published it on his Facebook page.

She said: "We do everything a man does, our working hours are same. But when I went to take my wage the manager gave me 50 taka (Ghc 2,63) less than my male coworker."

Her manager told her it's because she does not wear a shirt like men. Taslima therefore wore a shirt to work the next day.

However, her manager told her he could only increase her wages if all female workers at her place of work wore shirts like men.

Following her example, her female colleagues wore shirts the following day. This time, the manager had no excuse not to give them equal pay.
