- Ronaldo and Benzema have a buy-out of £890m
- Lionel Messi has a buy-clause lesser than Ronaldo and Benzema
- Neymar's deal to PSG raises eyebrows about fancy buy-out clauses
Years back there was huge believe among football fans that huge buy-out clauses was just for fancy and can not be met.
However, Neymar's move to PSG smashed the myth of huge buy-out fee protection .
PSG made Neymar the most expensive footballer ever after securing his services from Barcelona for a stagerring £198million.
This move has no doubt squashed the theory that Buy-out clauses and the huge figures involved were a thing of fantasy for buying clubs.
And that could be a worrying thing for the likes of Spanish giants Real Madrid as well as the already wounded Barca.
Real Madrid currently has Ronaldo's buy-out clause set at £890m, which they no doubt will feel is pretty safe.
The big surprise is Karim Benzema has the same release clause as the Portuguese superstar, which makes his release more than Messi's.
Madrid's rival, Barca are still playing a pretty dangerous game when it comes to their star-studded squad, including the five times Ballon'Dor winner, Lionel Messi.
Barcelona will definitely love to add a huge buy-out clause to Messi's contract but when he officially pens his extension his boy-out will only be £267m.
Strangely, that implies that nine other players in La Liga would have higher-value release clauses than Messi.
Spanish employment law forces clubs to give their players a buy-out clause.
