South African Premier League side Maritzburg United have lost their star player Mlondi Dlamini who was involved in a car crash on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
He was reportedly travelling through Cato Ridge in KwaZulu-Natal when tragedy struck with police informing the Premiership team of his untimely demise.
The 20-year-old midfielder made a name for himself in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) where he was also nominated for the best player award at the end of last season.
"It is a very sad and devastating news as we received the call from the police at 07:30 pm and we will release a statement on Dlamini's death later on Monday, October 9,'' Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia was reported to have said.
