- Arsenal is reportedly interested in signing Miguel Almiron from Atlanta
- The Gunners will face stiff competition from Inter Milan for the forward
- Almiron is tipped to be a replacement for unsettled Alexis Sanchez
Premier League giant Arsenal are reportedly looking to make an impressive £18m bid for Atlanta United star Miguel Almiron.
Italian media Calciomercato claim the Paraguay international is a target for Arsene Wenger after becoming one of the MLS’ top-rated players.
Almiron,23, is an attacking midfielder who has a keen eye for goal and is blossoming under the tutelage of former Barcelona and Argentina boss Tata Martino.
Arsenal are believed to be searching for new recruits as doubts linger over the futures of contract rebels Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
But they face a tough battle to bring Almiron to the Premier League, with Serie A giants Inter Milan also interested.
The Italians declined to sign the 23-year-old before he left Lanus for Atlanta at the start of the year.
But Luciano Spalletti is now keen to add Almiron to his star-studded team and could force Arsenal into making an offer this winter.
