- Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race to sign Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho
- Neymar urged PSG chiefs to get a deal for the player completed ahead of Barcelona
- Barcelona are still showing keen interest in Coutinho but PSG are ready to rival them
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made contact with Philippe Coutinho's representatives with regards to a move next summer.
Liverpool rejected three approaches from Barcelona during the summer but will likely have to take similar action in the January transfer window.
Reports coming out of Spain says Neymar is keen to be joined in Paris by his Brazilian team-mate and has urged his new employers to get a deal done ahead of his former club Barcelona.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, the Ligue 1 giants will join the race and compete with La Liga giants Barca for the former Inter Milan star's signature.
Barca are reportedly ready to table £97m for the 25-year-old in January after they failed to secure a deal during the summer window.
Coutinho was so desperate to leave Liverpool for Barcelona in the summer even went as far as handing a transfer request but the reds were able to keep the Brazilian playmaker.
However, with Barca and PSG set to test the waters in January the Premier League side could be set for another tempestuous window with PSG's club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi preparing a £135m bid.
Coutinho and Neymar are close friends from their time in the national team and have both previously stated their desire to play together at club level.
