-Veteran journalist Abdul Malik Kweku Baako is impressed with the achievements of the Akufo-Addo government so far
-He believes Ghanaians should forget the NDC and he wishes the party stays in opposition forever
It is no secret that Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako is not the favourite social commentator of National Democratic Congress (NDC) faithfuls and that situation will not be changing any time soon with his latest statement about the party.
While contributing as a panelist on Accra-based Peace FM's Kokrokoo on Wednesday concerning campaign promises and the performance of the Akufo-Addo-led administration so far, Mr Baako revealed that he wished that the NDC stayed in opposition forever.
For him, the stellar achievements of the Akufo-Addo government which is less than a year old was commendable and hence wished Ghanaians would forget the NDC and maintain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power forever.
“I wish they [NDC] will never come to power again. They should never come to power again”, he confessed adding that “Nana Addo has fulfilled his promise, he is courageous”.
The veteran investigative journalist was supporting claims by the Ashanti Regional NPP Secretary, Sam Pyne that the NPP had been able to fulfill most of its campaign promises within their first year in power and that the restoration of allowances for nursing and midwifery trainees might cost the NDC’s attempt to regain power in the 2020 election.
The NDC's Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs who was the party's representative on the programme quickly refused Mr Baako's wish stating “I stamp against it in the name of Jesus. God forbid”.
Kweku Baako's statement is not likely to endear him to NDC supporters since many of them believe the party can win back power in 2020.
