Not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they wear glasses and have a big heart.
Celebrity blogger Ameyaw Kissi Debrah displayed his good heart this week when he offered to cover the fees for a brilliant yet needy student to go to university.
Ameyaw recounted how he was tagged in a twitter post by one his followers @ekua_bronii, who asked him to help get the word out about the plight of young Daniel.
The student’s mother, Mrs. Rebecca Larbi had visited Ho where her son Daniel had gained admission into the University of Health and Allied Sciences.
According to Twitter user @ekua_bonii, the woman had visited her bank branch seeking a loan so she could pay for her son’s fees.
However since she unfortunately did not have an account with the bank, she was not eligible for the loan.
This story moved the Twitter user to take the matter through the power of social media, in order to solicit funds or support for Madam Rebecca and her son.
Ameyaw Debrah after being tagged and retweeting the story, said he suddenly had a "light bulb moment", when it occurred to him to offer to pay for the young man’s tuition.
Ameyaw contacted the lady behind the Twitter campaign, got in touch with Madam Rebecca and son, and in about 24 hours, Ameyaw paid the tuition.
Ameyaw, commenting on his decision, stated: “I can only hope that my little support will go a long way to usher him into the future he dreams about. I also hope my little random act of kindness will inspire you to also help someone out when you can. Spread the love!”
