-Aduana Stars defeated Elmina Sharks 2-1 in their penultimate match of the 2016/2017 season

-The victory handed them their second league title in eight seasons

Dormaa-based Aduana Stars have won the Ghana Premier League after beating Elmina Sharks 2-1 on Sunday at home.

Aduana beat Sharks to claim Ghana Premier League

The visitors scored first through Benjamin Tweneboah but Aduana rallied and equalised through Rashid Alhassan.

A penalty converted by Sam Adams later on giving Aduana 57 points after 29 round of matches.

Second-placed WAFA's 2-1 loss to Ebusua Dwarfs in Cape Coast ensured Aduana got their second league title in eight seasons with a game to spare.

They won their first title in the debut Ghana Premier League season in 2009/2010.
