Drugs estimated to be worth thousands of cedis have been destroyed after fire engulfed parts of the Walewale government hospital in the Northern region.

The fire incident which largely affected the hospital's storehouse occurred around midday on Tuesday.

The inferno was so fierce and scary that even patients on admission had to reportedly run for their lives

It is not yet known what might have caused the fire but personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service have arrived at the scene and working to put out the flame.
