The staff of the Ministry of Finance have been directed to work from home while they wait for their COVID-19 test results.
An internal memo sent to all staff noted that those who test positive “will be duly informed and will receive the necessary care from the appropriate health authorities designated by the Ministry of Health.”
In addition, the memo said the necessary contact-tracing will be undertaken by the appropriate authorities.

The ministry said staff will be duly-informed about the appropriate day to return to the office to work.
Some staff who will be working in the preparation of the mid-year review of the budget will work from approved locations.
All other staff will work from home using the ministry’s approved digital channels.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s COVID-19 caseload has shot up to 21 968 after the Ghana Health Service confirmed 891 new cases. Director-General, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, told journalists at the information ministry’s press briefing on Tuesday, 7 July.
The number of recoveries is also up; it is now 17 156.
The death toll is 129.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that management at the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has said its head office will be closed down on Wednesday, 8 July, for fumigation after some workers tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a press release on Monday, 6 July, the closure “has become necessary due to the mass testing the organisation is currently undertaking, which has resulted in some staff members testing positive for COVID-19.”
