Policeman slaps woman at voter registration center (Video)

A video of a uniformed policeman slapping a woman at a voters registration centre in the heat of an argument has gone viral on social media.

In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh on Facebook, the policeman who could be seen engaging in an argument with the middle-aged woman standing in a queue dished out a hefty slap on her left cheek causing her to lose her nose mask.

Although the cause of their argument could not be established, the officer can be heard warning the woman to be cautious less she incurs his wrath.

If you want to show that you are a boss I will also show you that I am a boss…… you can’t just talk to me roughly,” the policeman can be heard saying some seconds before the slap which caused bystanders to separate the two.

The video has since generated several comments on social media with several opinions being shared amidst anger towards the actions of the police officer.

Jahz Love says the policeman obviously is unqualified to be in the uniform.

Augustine says if the woman was his mother he would have fought the officer.

Prince thinks the policeman is a stupid man.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the police in the Central Region of Ghana have arrested an aspiring independent parliamentary candidate for viciously flouting the COVID-19 protocols by organising a rally.

The politician, who wants to become a member of parliament for Assin South constituency in the Central Region, is called Joseph Kofi Damte.

Kofi Damte was arrested after failing to give the police notice of his intention to hold a political campaign as the law stipulates.
