An aspiring member of parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW) constituency, John Dumelo, has revealed that some hooded men at registration centres at the Legon campus are attacking his agents.

In a press release sighted by YEN.com.gh, Dumelo stated that AWW has once again become a scene of violence and assaults.

According to him, there have been persistent reports of physical abuse meted out to the registration agents and sympathisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as individuals perceived to be NDC supporters.

He noted how agents of the NDC had been brutalised in the course of the on-going registration exercise, in the presence of policemen.

Dumelo, however, served notice to the sitting member of parliament to promote peace and serenity in the constituency.

In other news, Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has denied claims that final year students were only made to return to school in a bid to get them on to the voters' roll for the 2020 elections.

According to him, it makes no sense for people to say final year students in the basic school who number about 750 000 were sent back to register and vote.

He quizzed whether those students who were not eligible voters were also going to vote.
