Election 2020: Ayawaso MP gives Dumelo pressure; shares branded math sets to BECE candidates

The Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, popularly known as Maa Lydia, has presented some mathematical sets to candidates sitting this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

In a Facebook post sighted by YEN.com.gh on the MP's page, the MP stated that as part of her yearly support, she presented math sets to the candidates.

She also used the opportunity to pray with the students and advised them to obey the rules and regulations governing the examinations.

"This morning 14th September, 2020, I presented mathematical sets to all basic school candidates sitting this years Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Ayawaso West Wuogon as part of my yearly support for all basic schools.
I used the opportunity to commit pupils sitting the Examination into the hands of the Lord as I wished them best of luck.
I also admonished them to obey all rules and regulations governing the examination, she wrote"

In other news, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that students in their second years in both the senior high and Junior High Schools are to return to school.

According to him, in consultation with relevant stakeholders, the JHS and SHS two students would be reporting to school on October 5, 2020, and end their academic year of December 14, 2020.

Speaking in his 16th address to the nation, the President noted that the SHSs should not have a class size of more than 30 and the JHS not more than 25 students

The president added that SHS 2 students in the boarding houses are to report to their dormitories on October 5, while day students commute to school on a daily basis and adhere strictly to COVID-19 principles.

Prior to reopening the president noted that all schools would be fumigated as well as supplied with logistics like nose masks, veronica buckets, liquid soaps, sanitisers, tissue papers, as well as disinfectants.
