The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has challenged the High Court's jurisdiction in charging him with contempt charges.
Kennedy Agyapong was sued for allegedly insulting and threatening a trial judge at a labor court.
He rendered an unqualified apology for his insulting comments against the judges, justices and magistrates
According to him, upon sober reflection, he realised that his expression about the court was harsh.

In order for the rule of law to work, he was served with summons to appear before the court to explain why he should not be charged for contempt but he did not show up.
In his defense, his lawyers claimed he did not appear in court because he was not directly served with the summon.
The court adjourned the contempt case with instructions to paste the summons on the notice board at the premises of Net 2 TV and Oman FM.
In his suit, Agyapong said he had not been duly served with any writ of the summons and a statement of claim on any court processes.
He argued that because he had not been served, there was no way he could not have done anything against the land court or the presiding judge.

In other news, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, bared his teeth at former President John Dramani Mahama for saying he would legalise commercial motorbikes, popularly known as Okada.
He said the promise to legalise Okada after he (Mahama) wins the December polls, reveals how visionless the NDC flagbearer is.
According to him, most of the graduates who by no fault of theirs became Okada riders would not have opted for that if there were better employment opportunities.
