Accident in Walewale claims 1 life; 3 injured as police patrol car collides with bus

- Another fatal crash has allegedly been recorded at Lougri in Walewale Municipality of the North East Region

- A police patrol car allegedly collided with a KIA Grand Bird Bus leaving the driver of the patrol car dead instantly

- The other occupants are in a critical condition and have receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital

An accident involving a police patrol car and a KIA Grand Bird bus have allegedly occurred at the Lougri in Walewale Municipality of the North East Region.

A Police Patrol Vehicle carrying four police officers earlier today collided with a KIA Grand Bird Bus at Lougri in Walewale Municipality of the North East Region.

The accident reportedly happened at about 4:30 in the morning on Saturday, instantly claimed the life of the police officer driving the patrol vehicle, Lance Corporal Ernest Oteng.

The others on board sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

The bus driver has reportedly been arrested and detailed while investigations continue.

This accident has happened just a day after it was reported that six out of 36 Ghanaians footballers have been involved in a crash.

They were reportedly returning from a certain registration exercise when the unfortunate incident happened at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.

Meanwhile, Ghana has witnessed two major accidents in the past few days.

One of these sad incidents happened at Kyekerewa on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in which 10 people died while about 80 others sustained serious injuries.

There was another accident at Amanase, near Suhum, on the same Accra-Kumasi Highway in which three people died.

The VVIP bus with registration number GL 527-14 was involved in the accident killing the three passengers instantly and leaving several others badly injured.

Unfortunately, the three persons that died instantly, included a four-year-old child. The incident reportedly occurred at 5:30 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
