COVID-19 free water supply extended till December 31, 2020

The government has extended the implementation of the free water supply to homes in the country till December 31, 2020.
A statement issued by the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah on Wednesday, September 23, noted that that the extension is to enable Ghanaians continue observing the COVID-19 safety protocols.
This according to her, would help to wipe out the disease from the country as reported by 3news.com.

“This is to enable Ghanaians continue with the protocols especially the washing of hands under running water, to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic," she said.
The Ministry further appealed to consumers to use the water judiciously.
President Akufo-Addo in his third address to the nation on the safety measures put in place by government to stop the spread of COVID-19 announced that Ghanaians would enjoy free waster supply for three months.
The free water supply to Ghanaians was subsequently extended.

The Ghana Water Company Limited in an earlier report carried by YEN.com.gh, urged Ghanaians to desist from wasting water and rather store enough for use as it faces challenges with water supply in the capital, Accra and other cities.
According to the management of the water company, consumers must ensure they increase storage of water while it flows through their taps.
The Management of Ghana Water Company Limited has asked Ghanaians to desist from using treated water for commercial car washing and watering of lawns with since these practices reduce the pressures in the pipelines.
