After unending bashing and criticism from a section of Ghanaians on social media especially Twitter, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has finally spoken.

He took to his Facebook and Twitter pages to issue an official statement about the happenings ongoing violence in Nigeria

According to him, he had spoken to the Nigerian leader, Muhammadu Buhari, and assured the Nigerians that the situation would soon be brought under control.

One of his tweets read: "I join all well-meaning persons in calling for calm, and the use of dialogue in resolving the #EndSARS impasse in Nigeria. I have spoken with President Buhari, who is committed to this end, and has begun the processes that will lead to reform."

Nigerian, Ghanaians and other nationals have however flooded the post by the president with heartfelt gratitude for his intervention.

Which President did you speak with please? Nigeria don't have any President, and please mind your business, you're part of the problems of Africans.

@Kai Trump Gyanzah shamed the president for always being quick to comment on what is happening around the world.

Shame on you. You were too quick to comment on foreign policies that doesn't matter to you but kept quiet all these while the so called ECOWAS president. The white will always see the black man as an animal. We re more interested in their well being than our. Pathetic!!!!!

Meanwhile, DJ Switch, a popular artist in the country, live-streamed scenes of the violence to 150 000 Instagram viewers, pleading for help.

The army itself has come out to deny the allegations that it had been ordered to shoot at the unarmed demonstrators, slamming it as fake news.

Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had ordered that a shutdown should be imposed in the capital, claiming that the protests had 'degenerated into a monster'
