Ex-US president Donald Trump returns to social media, becomes a blogger
- Trump has launched a communication tool that might be described as a glorified blog
- The president resorted to this following his ban by Facebook and Twitter
- Meanwhile, Facebook will soon announce if the ban on the president page will stand
Former US president, Donald Trump, has technically become a blogger. This follows his new retro webpage, billed “From the Desk of Donald J Trump”.
The page features a small photo of the 45th president writing in a book on his desk.

Recall that the former president was banned on social media giants like Facebook and Twitter following the invasion of the capitol by some of his followers.
A video includes archive material announcing Trump’s ban from Twitter and images of his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and of a desktop, overlaid by captions: “In a time of silence and lies, a beacon of freedom arises. A place to speak freely and safely. Straight from the desk of Donald J Trump.”
Below the video are a series of Trump statements resembling blogposts, of which the most recent begins: “Heartwarming to read new polls on big-shot warmonger Liz Cheney of the great State of Wyoming.”
Recall that YEN.com.gh reported that Trump launched a scathing attack on Fox Business on Thursday, April 29, in the wake of the raid carried out by the FBI on Rudy Giuliani's home.
YEN.com.gh gathered that two locations were raided and federal agents confiscated computers and cell phones, adding that this is a marked escalation in the investigation into Giuliani. His business dealings are being scrutinised, particularly his work in Ukraine. Tump described Giuliani as a "great patriot".
He slammed the authorities and accused the FBI of double standards. Trump vaguely mentioned corruption while defending Giuliani saying that Rudy loved his country and it was sad that this happened to him.
YEN.com.gh had previously reported that the United States Mission in Nigeria announced it would prioritise visa applications by Nigerian students who hope to resume academic studies in America by September 2021.
It was reported that the US mission made this known in a statement on Friday, April 30, signed by Temitayo Famutimi of the public affairs section of the US Consulate General.
Susan Tuller, the US mission country consular coordinator, reportedly promised that efforts would be made to assist student visa applicants in a timely fashion while keeping personnel and customers safe.
