At Sotheby's Fashion Icon auction, the renowned red and white sweater sparked a 15-minute bidding war that resulted in 44 bids, raising the price from KSh 27 million to KSh 160 million.

According to TMZ, Princess Diana first wore the sweater back in 1981, and it gained instant popularity when she was pictured in it on the front page of a newspaper.

This moment catapulted the British brand Warm & Wonderful, the designers behind the garment, to unparalleled popularity.

The iconic sheep sweater remained tucked away in the brand's archives for decades until its rediscovery this March by co-founder Joanna Osborne.
