A massive fire has destroyed a three-storey building that reportedly houses police officers at Aboabo in the Ashanti Region.

It's not yet clear what caused the inferno, but fire and plumes of black smoke can be seen emanating from the last floor of the building.

The ravaging fire has destroyed several properties as seen in the video making the rounds on social media.

There was a massive explosion in the three-storey building, and the people on the ground can be heard saying it was gas that exploded.

It's also not clear whether firefighters have arrived at the scene to douse the raging fire.

Several items destroyed as fire guts some parts of Kantamanto market

In a similar story, YEN.com.gh previously reported that fire gutted parts of the Kantamanto market in Accra’s Central Business District.

Per a CitiNews report, the fire reportedly started around 10 pm on Tuesday. An eyewitness recounted that by 10:20 pm, the fire had gone out of control.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service reportedly got to the fire station at around 11 pm.

Meanwhile, another incident occurred in that same enclave at the Accra central branch of GCB Bank when one of the bank’s offices was razed.

The inferno gutted the Odawna market in Accra, in the early hours of Wednesday. According to Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Ellis Okoe Robinson, the fire at the market started at about 12 midnight but the fire service was called two hours later.

The fire officer mentioned that, because access routes to the exact spot of the fire, the fire tenders faced difficulties in trying to access it
